Curriculum

 

Olesya Urusova was born in 1984 in Saratov (Russia). Between 1991 and 1998 she attended the music school (by Lilia Musyka) and afterwards, until 2003, the music college in her hometown. In 2008 she finished her studies at the Saratov State Conservatory with distinction (by Prof. Asya Kireeva and Anatoly Katz) and gained qualifications in music education, piano accompaniment, chamber music and as a soloist.

 

In 1999 Olesya received the honorary diploma and the prize for the youngest pianist at the international competition EPTA in Croatia. 

 

In 2001 she obtained a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and performed concerts in Moscow and other cities in Russia. In Saratov she was active as a soloist, among others with the Saratov Symphony Orchestra.

 

From 2001 to 2006 Olesya won several prizes at Russian competitions and in 2007 she won the third prize at the Bremen Piano Competition as well as a promotional award for her interpretation of S. Rachmaninov's Etudes-Tableaux Op. 33.​​​

In June 2010 Olesya received a concert diploma with distinction from the Zurich University of the Arts (Master of Arts in Music Performance) by Professor Homero Francesch and in the same year she won a scholarship from the Marguerite Meister Foundation.

 

In November 2012 she obtained a soloist diploma (Master of Arts in Specialized Music Performance) with a performance of I. Stravinsky's "Concerto pour piano et instruments à vent", also at the Zurich University of the Arts.

 

Olesya performs solo concerts and concerts with various chamber music ensembles, plays regularly in Switzerland and abroad (e.g. Germany, France, Finland, Russia). Currently Olesya lives in Winterthur (Switzerland), where she works in the Judendmusikschule and also gives private lessons.
